If you’ve ever been on a diet chances are you’ve heard the term “cheat meal”. It is either used as an excuse - “but it’s my cheat day!” - or as a reward, “I deserve this”. We’re here to tell you, it is neither. Cheat is a DIRTY word, and we’d have you eliminate it from your vocabulary altogether. “Cheating” conjures images of Tiger Woods or Bill Clinton, and it should in no way be associated with your new found zest for life and hunger for health. There is something decidedly permanent about the word cheat, which is fitting because in one “epic cheat meal”, you can absolutely ruin a week’s worth of progress, and leave a permanent mark on your pant size and waist line. Cheating is not acceptable in any aspect of life; you would not cheat on your spouse because you’ve committed to them. If you’ve truly committed to investing in yourself as well as your health, there is no need to partake in act synonymous with shame and guilt…”
